Calmark's product Neo, which consists of a reader and different single-use tests for blood sampling on newborns, has a unique industrial design that the company has worked a long time to produce. The design is previously protected in Europe, USA, India and China, which means that no one can copy the ergonomic and aesthetic design of the product. As Calmark Sweden AB is planning a global launch, the company is working actively with both patents and design rights in important future markets. The application and approval in Vietnam is an important part of the strategy as the country is part of the first phase of the preliminary launch plan.
"The approval in Vietnam is important for our upcoming launch” says Anna Söderlund, CEO at Calmark. "Protecting the intangible values that we have built up for more than ten years is an obvious focus for Calmark.”
