Technology
The technology behind Calmark Neo™ is based on
chemical/enzymatic reactions with salts and microfluidics.
In the case of Calmark Neo, a drop of blood is applied to
the Calmark Neo card and separated into plasma. Later the plasma is
transferred within the card to reaction wells. In the wells, there
are pre-deposited reagents specific for the markers to be
determined.
The disposable card solution has a reference colour indication to
show the cut off level of the biomarker(s). It also has a built-in
system for detection of hemolysis. The reading of the result can be
performed by two different methods; colorimetric or
spectrophotometric. The colorimetric method is to be used
stand-alone, using only a disposable card, and the
spectrophotometric method includes card together with a hand-held
instrument.
CalmarkNeo™ is designed for use in newborns and for Point
of care. Only 50 µL blood sample is required to obtain reliable
results within less than 2 minutes.
